About Us

This webb site has been set up so that information about what the group has planned can be distributed faster, a news letter will still be printed twice a year for people who have no internet access.

Anyone who has no internet access can visit the St Andrews Community Hub and make use of the computers for Job Search or project, children can use them to help with Homework or class assignments.

If pensioners would like to learn how to use a computer one to one tutition is available.

We run a Junior Fishing Club for children living in the Old Ward Of St Andrews aged 7 - 15yrs, but at the age of 12 they would require a licence ( £5:00 per year)  and at 16 require a full licence. ( £ 26:00 per year)

We can arrange for people to do training to get back to work or point them in the right direction to get training.

We are a group of volunteers who started up in 2007, our first project was to clean and decorate the Hub in Heath Rd Netherton, it was in a very poor state and it took us three months to get it habitable. Since doing this we have gone from strength to strength. Organising activities for young people and senior citizens from the Old St Andrews ward of Netherton.

Our group consists of approx 30 volunteers who give up their spare time to help people of the community, the age range of our volunteers is from 13 years  to people well into their 70s. Anyone working with youth or helping with the senior citizens has regular CRB checks.

On all activities there are at least 4 people who have first aid at work training and on all outdoor activities all staff have had sharps training in case of discarded needles,We also have a child protection policy and an equal opportunity policy in place.

Our users

The users of the Hub range from very young children to pensioners, children come to use the computers to aid in their school work or school project, or just to find information about any activities we are planning. Pensioners come for a cup of tea and a chat or to learn how to use computers and for information.

Local people who are out of work come to do job search or complete a CV, or to have some copying done, people come in to ask us about a range of subjects and if we can we point them in the right direction to get their problems sorted.

Being on the doorstep for many means they can get problems sorted quickly, and now if the want they can contact us by email or look for links and phone numbers on the site.
